Melody C. Gibson
Executive Director and Co-Founder

OPERATION LOOKOUT® National Center for Missing Youth
Side-by-side with
her husband, Mike, Melody co-founded
and directs one of today's most respected
charities. What began as a small community
newspaper that included a page about
missing children in 1984 has grown into
one of the most effective child-search agencies
in North America. Today the organization
works diligently on finding missing
children in full cooperation with other
agencies and with law enforcement.
She administrates
an amazingly lean organization,
where the agencies current overall
case resolve rate stands at an astonishing 82%,
and no case is closed without cause until
the family of a missing child authorizes
it. Once a child is found, OPERATION LOOKOUT®
caseworkers stay with the family to
aid in the recovery (as applicable). As editor
of the Center's magazine, The Lookout!,
she sensitively communicates the problems
and solutions to the growing problem
of child abduction. A loving mother and grandmother,
respected writer, editor, and administrator,
Melody brings a very special quality
to the Advisory Board.
